Here at The English Sofa Company we always strive to give our customers the best possible experience we can. This includes making sure that we are up to date with all the latest design techniques and design trends, bringing you the best selection of beds and sofas that we can. Whilst all of our sofas are designed and hand made right here in our UK factory, it’s not often people get a behind the scenes look at what goes into a new product line-up.With a total of 33 exciting new products for you to see! Once we have designed our new products, the most important thing for us to do is to make sure we get some exciting new product pictures taken for our website and social media. Having only 7 days to get the relevant pictures taken, time was against us! For this shoot we decided to use our go to photographers, who are on-point with the design process, and really understand what we want to achieve from our photo-shoots.
Using our go-to photographers for all of our studio photography is an integral part of our website design, helping to keep the photography consistent and natural looking. The tall windows and variety of wooden flooring gives us a natural and homely look to work with and dress up. This is why we don’t use any green screens, as they don’t always look quite as natural or consistent, lacking the depth and customisability that our interior designers are able to create in the studio space.
Unfortunately for us, the photography studio is based in Nottingham, meaning that each day we had to get all of our furniture (as well as our team) down there by 9am, meaning these were going to be long days… However, with our team led by Sales Director, Ryan Mohieddin, as well as the experienced photography team, we were in safe hands! Our team also included our two in-house interior designers, Dan Smith and Suzanne Dickson, who would dress our products and set upon arrival, giving our products the best representation possible.
Dressing is always the first stage of the shoot, and arguably the most important. For this, the aim was to try and get the sofa to look as natural as possible, and to try and portray how the sofa might look in our customers’ homes. To do this we used a local accessories supplier, who stock most of our accessories for our showroom – this gave us a great opportunity to dress up the studios to make them look really homely, with a few scatter cushions, a carpet and some furniture going a long way.
Luckily, even with distance and time not on our side, we think our designers have really pulled this one off, making our new products fit comfortably in the current range! View our New and Exclusive product range here.
